Lansdowne Zone is coordinated by a group of dedicated teachers from our 12 affiliated schools, who volunteer their time and efforts to plan, organise and provide sporting opportunities for students within all affiliated schools. Lansdowne Zone offers a recognised Gifted and Talented program within the public school system, which is a proud tradition that continues only with the support of these teachers and their school principals.
Lansdowne Zone provides the opportunity for students to participate in 3 seasons of competition each year. Inter-school competition is held on Friday afternoons. The sports offered within our these three seasons are modified cricket, softball, tee ball, netball, oztag, basketball, football (soccer), AFL , rugby league and touch football. Students are also given the opportunity to participate in 3 major championships, those being for swimming (Term 1), cross country (Term 2) and athletics (Term 3). In addition, Lansdowne Zone also provides the opportunity for talented students to be selected as members of Zone teams to compete at Sydney South West Regional Championships. Those selected at Regional Championships for the Regional team will then be eligible to compete at the State PSSA level, according to their demonstrated skill level on the day.
The overall focus of Lansdowne Zone PSSA is to always to try your best, have fun and display good sportsmanship. We also uphold the values of respect, cooperation, integrity and teamwork through modelling and expecting fair play from all.
